That was my point. Nothing does it, yet you consider Blu-ray's audio
to be in a mess? That's not logical. Blu-ray has far more consistent
audio fidelity than HD DVD and the majority of the time the lossless
tracks are PCM.

I don't need them to go back and remaster releases into 7.1 if they're
currently 5.1 or 6.1 and I don't care whether it's DTS-MA, TrueHD or
PCM, as long as one form of lossless audio is used.

I'm not sure why you stated "You're planning on buying a new player,
huh?" because I have no intention of replacing the PS3 as my
designated standalone Blu-ray player. It does my Blu-ray discs,
SACD's, PS3 games, PS2/1 games, lets me download trailers and watch
them in 1080p, has HDMI 1.3, plays DVD's and CD's. With 24/176.4
decimation the PS3 is truly an audiophile level machine allowing the
Cell processor to do the work. The only thing it's missing is DVD-
Audio support, but my SACD collection is much bigger anyway.

It's nothing to do with having a "hump" it's to do with the hardware.
The PS3 has infinitely more processing power than is needed for DTS-
Master Audio so I think I'm sitting pretty. I'm holding off on
watching Fox's titles (only bought KOH so far) simply because I'd
rather wait to enjoy them when I can listen to DTS-MA.

I'm happier with compressed lossless because it means more breathing
room for the PQ, but I do agree that if there's room for PCM, I'm
certainly not going to snub my nose at it. I do see PCM disappearing
2-3 years into the format's life though and TrueHD and DTS-MA being
the norm.
